Teighan Shore
Field Technician

I am in my senior year at the University of Vermont studying Environmental Science with minors in Wildlife Biology and Geospatial Technologies. Over the summer I worked as a field technician for the Vermont Bee Lab studying monarch butterflies and other pollinators. I am using some of the data collected to write my Honors Thesis, which will be completed by the end of the year. I am excited about being more involved in the pollinator world and about working with the Bee Lab!

Brianna Borch
Undergraduate Researcher

I am a sophomore studying Food Systems and Spanish at the University of Vermont. I am interested in ecological agriculture and fair farming practices. My work in the Vermont Bee Lab includes coordinating outreach events, securing funding for the lab and conducting research. I have past experience studying leguminous crop genetics and soil interactions. I am looking forward to becoming more involved in the VT beekeeping community this upcoming bee season!

Faith Novella
Research Assistant / Field and Lab Technician

I am currently in my senior year at UVM studying Wildlife Biology. I have been assisting in field and laboratory research on pollinators since 2017 and am excited to continue my work with the Vermont Bee Lab during my last year at UVM.

Alexandra DeFoe
Research Assistant / Diagnostics Technician 

I am a second year biological sciences major at the University of Vermont. My work in the Vermont Bee Lab focuses on honeybee diagnostics and pathology. Additionally, I am involved in undergraduate research exploring different aspects of bumblebee and honeybee RNA virus deposition.

Lily Burnham
Marketing and Public Relations

I am a second semester sophomore, a marketing major and an applied design minor at the University of Vermont. I have worked as a bio lab technician and spend my time at the VBL in charge of social media.

Hillary Churchill
Public Outreach Coordinator/ Field and Lab Tech

I’m in my senior year studying ecological agriculture at the University of Vermont. I’m currently a lab technician in a lipid biochemistry lab helping run fatty acid analyses on bovine milk. I’ve also had prior apiary experience including pest management, equipment maintenance, and bottling honey at Champlain College Apiary - before taking UVM’s summer beekeeping course. I am a Vermont Beekeeping Association (VBA) certified beekeeper.

Emily Moehn
Education and Outreach Coordinator

I am currently a senior at UVM, majoring in elementary education and minoring in philosophy. I am originally from Chicago, IL and transferred from Oregon State University almost two years ago. I lived in Vermont for my high school years and am very excited to be back in Vermont working for the VT Bee lab. I am so happy to be able to teach young kids all about pollinators!
